Asakusa Summer Night Festival “Tōrō Nagashi”
“Tōrō”(Lanterns) that put each of the thoughts decorate the surface of the river
“Tōrō Nagashi”(lantern light-up on the river) held at first in 1946 in ‘the festival of Asakusa reconstruction’ that held as a memorial service for those who died in the war, but had been interrupted by the construction of seawalls, now performed again by the development of hydrophilic terrace of the Sumida River. Now the landscape of 2,000 Tōrō is the Sumida River tradition of summer that flow with various thoughts.

|Note||If you want to join “Tōrō Nagashi”, you can apply for it to Asakusa Tourism Federation in advance, or you can apply for at the venue on the day.
The reception will start at the entrance Sumida park (water bus terminal) from 14:00, but it will end as soon as there is no “Tōrō”(lanterns).
The event will be held in even case of rain.
