Festival to be held for 11 days This year the carrying of town’s portable shrines will be performed

The Shiba Daijingu Shrine annual festival held in 11 days from September 11 to 21 every year is familiar under the name of “Daradara Matsuri”. Because of the long festival period, it came to be called “dara dara” which represents “a state where things are slowly continuing” in Japanese. Also known as “Ginger Festival”, ginger is given in the precincts.
On September 15th, the carrying of town’s portable shrines is performed, and the surroundings of Shiba Daijingu Shrine are energetic.

Also, “Chigibako” (千木筥) which is very popular as a “good luck charm for happy marriage” among women, is difficult to obtain, but it will be sold during the festival period. You may get it if you are lucky.
