Kanda Used Book Festival
Book lovers gather from all over Japan, “Kanda Used Book Festival”
“Kanda Used Book Festival” will be held for the 58th time this time. The festival is the largest event to be held in Jinbo-cho Antique Book District. Now, the festival is known as an institution of Tokyo, and many book lovers visit to look for favorite books from oversea and all over Japan.
Various events will be held during the festival, especially the “Open-air Used Book Market” and the “Exhibition and Sale of Rare Old Books” are gaining popularity.
In the “Open-air Used Book Market”, bookshelves are lined up along the sidewalk of Yasukuni Street about 500 meters, so many books are sold in bargain price that is once a year.
“Exhibition and Sale of Rare Old Books” has gathered domestic and abroad valuable books that usually are not found in shops. If you are looking for rare book, you should visit.
And many things other than books such as Ukiyo-e are also available.
There is also a workshop of carving the original ownership mark on oneself, even people who are not familiar with the book can enjoy it enough.
